Teeth Whitening at Home

Smile Brilliant
I am loving my new white smile and my new whitening products from Smile Brilliant I’m a daily coffee drinker and was beginning to notice it was taking it’s toll on my teeth.   Smile Brilliant is the #1 dentist recommended teeth whitening method using custom- fitted whitening trays.  I love that every tooth gets whitened and it works so fast.  I noticed results after the very first use.  This same type of whitening in a Dentists office would cost $500 for the exact same type of service.

IMG_4588My kit arrived and the first thing  I had to do was make the molds to send in so they could  make my personalized whitening trays.  It was so easy to do.  It took just a few minutes.   You basically mix a clay type product with a catalyst and bite your teeth into the product and wait a few minutes.  It begins to solidify and harden and then you remove from your teeth.  I let it dry over night and then mailed them back into the company to make my trays. IMG_5133Above is a close up of the clay mixture.

IMG_5134After mixing the molding material and catalyst you simply press them into the trays.IMG_5135Next you bite down into the tray until you feel that all of your teeth and into the mold.  Make sure you get all the way up to the gum line.IMG_5137Here is my completed clay mold.  Repeat and do both top and bottom.IMG_5139Mail both molds back in with the card provided.  I had my trays back in less than 2 weeks. IMG_5494Look at these trays perfectly fitted to my teeth.IMG_7236Now just apply a thin line of whitener and wear it on dry teeth for 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on sensitivity.  Each syringe will have enough for 3-4 applications.  I started off with 30 minutes and gradually built up my time.  There is a gel you can apply if needed for sensitivity, but I did not need to use it.

Here is my BEFORE and AFTER.  Im loving my results and I still have more treatments left.fullsizeoutput_e69Im loving my new smile.  This is the whitest my teeth have been in years.  Let me know if you have any questions.  I’m here to help answer all your questions.  A white smile is a confident smile.  Use “Styleaccused15” to save %15 on Smile Brilliant whitening kits.  Enter a GIVEAWAY to be gifted your very own kit.

Lash Love- My First Eyelash Extensions

Read along about my amazing eyelash extension experience at Beautifully Bare in Jacksonville, Florida with my girl Ray Anna.IMG_8413

JXDM4607

I recently got eyelash extensions. I have always wanted them.  I have pretty wimpy lashes.  My appointment was at Beautifully Bare with the owner Ray Anna. It was amazing to say the least. When I arrived we had a consultation about what type of lashes I wanted and how to care for my new lashes and if I had any questions at all. I have been told by a few people that after getting lash extensions their lashes fell out these were the same people that told me that getting their lashes put on took about 30 minutes. I was told this appointment was going to take three hours. Ray Anna relieved my fears of any type of concerns. She explained to me that she actually applies 1 individual lash to each lash where as some places apply clumps of lashes to clumps of your and since our lashes grow and fall out at different rates when ply in groups that is how the lashes fall out.  It actually makes them pull out.  Apply 1 to 1 allows them to shed naturally.  We had already met previously for coffee for a couple of hours and we had such a great time talking.  See a great listener and will be sure to answer all your questions.

image

When we got started she cleaned my lashes and instructed me on how to do it. You have to be very gentle to your new lashes. Cleaning them once a day at night is good. I would no longer be able to use my thick eyeliner but she gave me some tips on how to use eyeshadow and wetting the eyeshadow to use it as a liner. I was so excited.I couldn’t wait to see my new lashes. She then put pads under both of my eyes with a cooling gel. Is very soothing and it wasn’t uncomfortable. I even got a lip treatment while I was there. Which also helped keep me from talking which for me was probably a really good thing. It will be very difficult for her to apply lashes while someone was talking and the moisture in the air apparently is not a good thing either with the adhesive.

MUBL6651

She applied the lashes in sections first one and then the other.  As you can see in the photos she measured and carefully applied at different lengths for a natural look.  I was getting a volume set. She did it rounded which was best for my eye shape. We did several before and after photos. There was even a photographer also named Sara that came in and did videos and pictures for us. I never actually got a chance to meet Sara because my eyes were closed. Ray Anna  gently taped them closed but you really couldn’t feel it and it wasn’t uncomfortable at all she would very gently remove the tape and she was so careful. I actually even fell asleep for a few minutes during the process.

HXCT4081MFYV1774

It gave me a lot of time to close my eyes think and reflect on things and just soak in A couple hours of peacefulness. It’s not very often that I sit still. So this was good for me. After she was done completing both eyes in sections she once again washed the lashes and rinsed them with cool water. Throughout the process it was so funny because she would brush the lashes and I could actually hear them.   I’ve never in my life been able to brush my lashes,  there was really just nothing there.   It was so funny. When we were done she did the great reveal and I was absolutely shocked. They were so pretty and so real looking. She did an amazing job and was very meticulous throughout the whole process. She left me with a goodie bag of deep cleanser with aloe cucumber and green tea extract. Doesn’t that sound just wonderful and soothing?  She gave me a couple Beautifully Bare  spoolies and a make up brush to use to cleanse my lashes. We had some fun taking some pictures together.  It was such a great experience for me it was not uncomfortable at all and it was actually quite relaxing. It was so nice to do something for myself. It’s going to be so nice and such a timesaver in the morning not to have to curl my lashes and put on mascara. I can’t believe I get to wake up this way every morning.

IOUP9802WOKV3476NIRU4113DZYD8606

I’m so thankful to Ray Anna from Beautifully Bare for giving me such beautiful lashes. She does such an amazing job here in Jacksonville Florida. If you live in the area and you want beautiful lashes I would definitely check her out.She is sweet and gentle.   She seemed to know what I needed before I needed it. Prior to the process she got me comfortable with a neck pillow pillows under my knees and a blanket when I needed it. That was amazing relaxing music playing in the background in the rooms All decorated so pretty. They are so comfortable and I can’t even feel them it’s even more comfortable than wearing mascara. They feel very light and my allergies have not been affected at all.  I thought my eyes would be red after the process but she was so gentle there was absolutely no redness when we were through.

Time Is So Precious

IMG_9516

Wearing a watch is essential for me.  I have partnered with Jord Watch and this beautiful watch is called CORA  in Zebrawood and rose’.  It came beautifully wrapped in a humidor cedar watch box.  I love to style my watch with Time Is So Preciousmy rose gold diamond bracelet that was a gift from my husband as well as a butterfly bracelet that was a gift from a close friend.  Wearing these daily reminds me of the people who care about me.  Spending time with the ones we love is so important.  Days get so busy as a Mom of two who works full time all the while trying to keep up with a home, friends, church life ect.  Sometimes I joke about the fact that I should never buy plants because they are just one more thing to take care of.  I joke, but I actually mean it. Why then do I try to find time to fit in a fashion blog? I’m sure  you probably want to ask. This again goes back to this thing  of time.  I wasted years wishing I had a fashion type job.  Sometimes I dreamed of being a fashion designer.  I do love to sew. Other times I wished I owned my own boutique. My husband had been telling me for years to do something about it, but honestly I just never knew where to start.  One day I was talking with my friend @coutureandcocktail and we were trying to figure out this whole blog thing.  I actually had a three day weekend which allowed me a little down time.  We spent most of that weekend researching and taking pictures.  We started posting and before you know it we were Instagram Bloggers. We shared tips and well now 10 month later here we are.  I had lost touch with her for years as we both moved to other states.  I’m so glad I was blessed with a little extra time that day to catch up on old times and renew our friendship.  Blogging is fun and fashion related but what some don’t see are the relationships I have formed with so many other bloggers. We actually encourage each other and check on each other if we have not heard from each other.  We talk about our families, sick kids, struggles and triumphs. It’s real life.  It not always just the pretty picture you see of that fabulous outfit. So why do I fit blogging into my already hectic and busy life?It keeps me happy and that makes for a better wife, mom, daughter, worker and friend.

Well it’s been fun sharing my blogging adventure with you and now I must go.  I must have some laundry to do or kids homework to help with.  Maybe the dog needs to go out this car needs to be washed.  I’m sure i have something  productive I should be doing, but in the meantime I’m happy and sane.  At least I think I’m sane, Hubby may not agree LOL. I do enjoy sharing my TIME with you.

Sweater Love

IMG_1581Femme Luxe

This darling little sweater dress is from Femme Luxe and I am so loving this brand y’all.  I have several dresses and they all shipped fast and the quality is amazing and best of all is the price.  Would you believe their sweater dresses’ run less than twenty dollars each.  Many of their dresses’ do and I must say I am so in love with the ones I have that I can’t wait to get more.  I have had more compliments on these dresses’.  They are going to be just perfect for date nights.

Now to get to the blog.  I have been so interested in the history of fashion.  I wish I could go back to school to major in fashion.  Don’t you know when you study something you love it does not even feel like work.  Kind of like blogging.  I used to hate writing papers for school, but put me in front of a computer to talk to other women about the topic of fashion and it all becomes just one big run on sentence.  See what I mean, I was suppose to be over here talking about the history of the sweater.  OK so let’s go!

So let me start by telling you the funniest part.  Did you know that the origin for the sweater was a wool vest or jersey that was worn by fishermen  in the 15th century in Europe to protect them from the cold.  By the 1890’s athletes in the United States took on the idea to produce “sweat” and weight loss.  Yuck!  Who knew?  Since that time in the 1920’s sweaters became fashionable haute couture.  In spite of the name the “sweater”  HA HA HA ! It seems to have done quite well over the years wouldn’t you say?  Sweaters have been worn with beads, ribbons, ties, low necklines, collared, off the shoulder and now the ever so popular sweater dress.  They have been loose fitting, tight fitting and everything in between.   Did you notice this seasons ripped sweater look?  Sweaters are worn by people of every age from babies and children to  teen and adults and  even people of old age.  It is an ageless item.  I guess we all like to be warm.

Here’s a little sweater 101 on different types of sweaters the should be in your closet:

A crew neck-  Circular collared and always a basic.

A V neck-  V opening in the neckline and perfect to wear with that favorite necklace or a scarf.

A Turtleneck- Tight to the neck  and mighty warm I  must say.

A Cardigan- Opens in the front and comes in different styles and lengths.  These are perfect for all seasons to have a little something to throw on over the top of a dress when the weather is chilly. If you are like me and live in the South its freezing with air conditioning year round.  I live in these and have every color in my collection.

A poncho-Goes over the head and makes for a very feminine and fashionable look.

An oversized sweater- a loose fitting baggy sweater that pairs great with some leggings for a casual relaxed look.

A cable knit sweater- criss crossed pattern of knit on the sweater.  These are so warm and never go out of style.

A cashmere sweater- Obviously made of luxurious cashmere and a closet staple for any lady.

A duster- A very long sweater.  Often open in the front.  These are perfect for a long lean look and I love to pair them with jeans and heels.

A fuzzy sweater- fuzzy material and very trendy this season. I have one thats so soft I just want to sit there rubbing my own arm.

A hoodie sweater- One with a hood.  Could be open or closed front.   Perfect to keep you just a bit warmer or cover your head if it snows or rains.

A choker sweater- Choker at the top of a v-neck which is great in place of a necklace.  Saves time too girl!

A bell sleeve sweater- Large open sleeves.  Also a very fun trendy look but be careful wearing when your eating.  I’m just saying!

A sweater dress-  These longer length sweaters look great for a date night, the office or just running around town especially paired with a great pair of boots.  I’m partial to over the knee boots this season.

So there you have it.  I’m sure this is not an all-inclusive list but its a great one.

Thanks for reading and until next time I’ll be working on my sweater collection!

The History and Love of Leopard Print Rages on.

IMG_1346

This blog post featuring: Femme Luxe

I have always been interested in the history of fashion so when Femme Luxe sent me this adorable animal print dress I was once again in love.  It inspired me to really take a look at  some of our previous fashion icons and the history behind leopard print.  First let me tell you about this amazing dress and this online shopping experience.  This dress is the Grey Animal Leopard V-Bar Body-con Midi Dress- Levene and it fits as smooth as silk.  The fabric is a great quality and the V bar and cami straps help it to stay up and in place.  This is the perfect date night dress.  I received the items fast, in perfect condition and the prices were amazing.

Leopard print has been viewed in so many ways from classic and vogue to trashy and burlesque.  It’s quite the controversial pattern I guess you could say.  Leopard prints started out gaining popularity in Hollywood type glamour.  In 1925 American actress Marion Nixon walked down Hollywood Blvd in a leopard skin jacket with her pet leopard on a leash. Other actresses including Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor also featured leopard frequently.  In 1947 leopard other than fur coats began their popularity when Christian Dior featured dresses.  He was inspired by Mitzah Bricard.  He stated of the pattern at that time “If you are fair and sweet, don’t wear it”.  A leopard is an undomesticated wild animal and at the time it was not considered appropriate attire for a lady in that day.  A print that on an animal was made to make them blend in made women stand out .  It really was controversial at the time.  Other designers began designing shoes, hand bags and other items into the 1950’s.  In the 1980s it could often be seen on and off stage as a rock/punk style look.  It really never went out of style.  Even today it is a classic. Hopefully to leopard print lovers like me, it always will be in style.  In the past year ,2018 it has been popping up in all the stores.  It gained more popularity than I have seen in my years past but we know that trends come and go, and they come back around again.

Leopard is a print you can wear in every season.  We need to think of it as a neutral item.  It can be found in little summer dresses and sandals as well as winter coats and boots. This season I’m adding a bit of it all to my collection.  Just this year alone I have purchased the following to give you an idea: sandals, a scarf, a long flowing vest, 2 dresses, a tank top, a pair of earrings, a casual top, a belt and a coat.  I still plan to add to my collection and I’m on the lookout for a great pair of booties as well as a clutch.  These staple items pair well when you want to throw on a trendy accessory.

Below I’m going to list my top tips on how to wear leopard print.

  1.  Pick 1 leopard print item for a subtle look.  Maybe a dress with a leopard heel.
  2. Pick multiple leopard items for a bolder leopard print look.  Go ahead be daring!  That is what fashion is all about.  If you love it wear it.
  3. Wearing it with all black makes for a great monochromatic look.
  4. Wear it with a pop of red for a fun and trendy look.
  5. Wearing it with pink create a softer romantic style
  6. Combining olive, cream or tan neutrals is a great choice.
  7. If you are not sure start off with 1 or 2 pieces and add from there.
  8. Don’t mix numerous animal prints.  Unless of course you want to follow tip two above and then who is stopping you.  Certainly not I.

I want to share some of my other favorite wardrobe ideas below.  If you love leopard just think of the possibilities we have when we consider snake skin and zebra.  Oh I can feel another blog post coming up.  Can you?

IMG_1446

Here is another look at that fabulous dress from Femme Luxe.  Nobody said leopard has to be just brown and black.  This version of this dress is black and gray.  Be on the lookout for other colors of leopard print.  Pink is so fun and believe it or not I saw a beautiful red version on a dress.

IMG_E5539

Here is a look at some other items in my recent leopard collection.

Wear it with a pop of red

Add a couple of accessories at a time so that it’s not too much for a subtle look.

If you have seen my previous blog post then you know I am a big fan of white boots.  This pair with the circle pull is so cute.  It will pair perfectly with a skirt with the zipper pull.  I’m sure you have seen those in all the stores this fall.  I think these boots have such a great vibe.  If you are leery I advise you at least try a pair and you may find that you change your mind. Remember its obviously ok to wear white after Labor Day if they make boots in that color.  See my previous blog post on how to transition white for colder months.  Check these boots out at H&M.

ThreeWays to Style White Boots

Processed with VSCO with g3 preset
Black and White  is always a Classic.  The white in this outfit really makes the White boots pop.  I’m feeling a tad bit retro as well and I just think it’s such a fun cute look.

B22F0557-4EEA-4317-B3DF-9E35BFEC0B0B
This is my wall at my office and its kind of my motto.   “Better late than ugly”.   Although I hate to be late to anything unless its fashionably late.   So the  saying I guess helps me deal with the stress of the daily grind and getting out the door on time.  It makes me laugh when things are not going quite perfectly in the morning.   Heres another option for black and white styled with black denim.  These boots would look great with any color denim.  I can’t wait to style them with a dark wash, a red pair, and maybe even pink.    You can easily throw a splash of pink or red with this to mix it up a bit and create a whole new look.
Processed with VSCO with g3 preset
Pair these boots with a pop of color.  As long as you incorporate another white item in your outfit it really doesn’t matter what you wear them with they will look great.  If you really want a different look pair them with all black for a real POP.  No matter how you wear these boots I promise you will feel like you just stepped off the runway.  I hope this post helped to give you a few ideas of how to style white boots and I can’t wait to hear from y’all how you are wearing them.  So go ahead and be bold!  Style them however you like.  There are no rules.

Scarf Tutorial- How to make a Kimono Vest out of your scarf

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
So we all have them, tons of scarfs that sit for half of the year waiting for us to break them out in cold water.  How about if we were to be able to actually make use of these babies year round?  Heres a quick tutorial to show you how you can.   Step 1. Fold your scarf in half length wise.  You will then have two corners.  One corner is the fold and the other is the two points.
Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
Step 2.  Make a double knot with the two corners tying them together twice like you would a trash bag.   Im  glad we are not wearing a trash bag here.  I promise it won’t look like one.  I have gotten so many compliments on this look.
Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
Step3.  After tying the two knots find the two openings that are now your arm holes.
Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
Step 4.  Sorry its a no brainer here, but put it on.  LOL
Processed with VSCO with g3 preset
Step 5.  Wear it over any outfit or even your swim suit.  See now it  can be used year round so head out this season and buy more scarfs because now you can find so many great ways to wear them.

White after Labor Day? YES Girl

Throw out that old rule of no white after Labor Day. I’m going to share three ways I love to wear white jeans during cooler weather.

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
White and black with a little leopard print.  You can’t go wrong with leopard print.  It is everywhere this season so be sure to pick up some leopard accessories.  Maybe a scarf, earrings or a great hand bag.
Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
Pair white denim with over the knee boots.  It instantly transforms them into a cooler weather look even when paired with pastels.  Im really loving pink with these gray over the knee boots.  Don’t forget to pick up some great cards sweaters in solid colors to wear in so many great ways. Always think about versatility when shopping on a limited budget.  Will you wear it more than once? in other seasons? over something? under something?  The more you can say yes the better purchase it becomes.  Happy shopping.
Processed with VSCO with c1 preset
I paired this look with a cute little moto jacket and a little gray scarf.  A basic gray or brown moto jacket is a must for the fall season.  They are perfect as they are just the right weight for cooler temps.  You can wear if over a t shirt or a light weight sweater depending on the weather.  I love them zipped up for such a cute  waist flattering look with jeans.  Don’t forget to check out all my instagram looks at http://www.snapppt.com/styleaccused.  Look me up on Facebook too.

A Photo Finish

Processed with VSCO with g3 preset

Today I just have to share my absolutely most favorite foundation.  If you shopped the Sephora sale you may have seen it there.  It’s one of their exclusive products and it has been life changing.  I have tried a lot of different foundations in the past.  If you have as well I gotta ask you a question.  Have you ever had your skin tested for color matching professionally?  This is where I was going wrong  I was testing it on my wrist or picking a color that seemed right.  Apparently I have a lot of yellow in my skin when they did the test.  I chose to go with Makeup Forever HD because it sounded perfect for photo taking  and I was right.  It goes on super smooth and the coverage is not heavy but it covers beautifully.  Its made in France.   Ooohhh  LA LA so maybe that makes me feel fancier.  My color is Y255.  Not so fancy sounding.  I’m not sure why they didn’t give it some glamorous name.  So not to be disappointed I will name it myself.  Maybe it stands for Young 25 plus 5.  Who knows.  I’m not planning to ever age.  I’ll be one of those little old ladies with my jewels all on and most likely my lipstick half way up my face and an eyelash hanging but hey at least I’ll be trying.  Im hoping to live in heels for the rest of eternity.  Do you think I can wear heels in heaven?  OK well maybe not  because I don’t want to get my heel stuck in the pearly gates on my way in.  Oh there I go off on a tangent.  What were we talking about?  Oh yes makeup.  I absolutely love makeup!  If I’m sounding a bit like Dorie in Finding Nemo get used to it.  I love to laugh and make others laugh too.  I hope you stick around to enjoy my posts.  I promise they will be full of tips on being glamorous and I may give you a laugh or two along the way because well,  HAPPY PEOPLE ARE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.
